The Katana is an understable distance driver, making it a good first distance driver for new players. It can also be used as an open-fairway bomber for bigger arms.
Some say the Katana has the flight characteristics of the Sidewinder on steroids. Others say it is relatively OS, like a Speed 13 equivalent of a Champion TL.
