The Trench by Meridian Discs is a slow, extremely overstable approach disc designed for precision and control in high-pressure situations. For a new player, it serves as a "utility" disc that provides a highly predictable flight regardless of wind or power.

• Stability: Very overstable. It is engineered to resist "turning" (drifting right for right-handed backhand players) and will always finish with a strong, aggressive "fade" to the left.
• Distance: It has low glide (3), meaning it won't stay in the air long. This is a benefit for new players as it helps prevent the disc from sailing too far past the target on approach shots. 

Hand Feel & Design

• Profile: It features a low-profile design with an extra flat top.
• Grip: It has a deeper feel compared to some other approach discs, which some players find very comfortable for backhand shots.
• Reliability: Because it resists torque, it is an excellent choice for learning forehand (sidearm) approach shots, as it can handle the "wobble" often caused by new players' release errors.
