The RPM Discs Pekapeka is an understable 9-speed fairway driver manufactured by RPM Discs in New Zealand. Approved by the PDGA in 2021, it is designed for effortless glide, controlled turnover shots, and finesse lines.
Shape and Hand Feel
The Pekapeka features a small convex-shaped rim with a flat angle. This design feels highly comfortable in the hand for a 9-speed driver, making it accessible for players with smaller hands.
Best Uses on the Course
- Hyzer Flips: Throwing the disc on an angled, tilted release allows it to flip up flat and thread tight, narrow fairways in wooded areas.
- Turnover Shots: It allows right-handed backhand players to naturally shape shots that drift left-to-right without requiring a forehand throw.
- Rollers: Because it turns over easily, power throwers can intentionally ground the disc early to transition into long-distance rollers.
- Beginner Distance: Newer players with slower arm speeds will find it flies straighter and stays in the air longer than overstable drivers.
