Kastaplast Fairway Driver 6|5|-2|1
The Kastaplast Stig is a slow, understable fairway driver designed for control, finesse, and easy, straight flights. It is known for its excellent glide and is a popular choice for tunnel shots and tight fairways, especially in wooded areas.
Flight characteristics
The Stig is a versatile disc that performs differently depending on a player's power and skill level. Flight numbers: 6 | 5 | -2 | 1
- For newer players: With moderate power, the Stig flies very straight and far, with a predictable, gentle fade at the end.
- For advanced players: When thrown with higher power or on a hyzer angle, the Stig will "flip up" to flat and glide for a long distance before its soft finish. It is also reliable for turnover shots that hold their anhyzer line.
- In a tailwind: The Stig's high glide makes it an excellent choice for long, controlled shots in a tailwind.
Comparison to other discs
The Stig was released to replace the Kastaplast Kaxe Z, which is now retired. Many players compare the Stig to the Kaxe but note that the Stig is more understable and has less fade. Experienced players also find that the Stig has a similar flight to an Innova Leopard or Leopard3, but with more glide.
Who is the Stig for?
- Beginners: Its understable nature and high glide make it easy to throw and gain extra distance.
- Intermediate players: It excels as a finesse disc for shaping lines through tight, wooded fairways.
- Advanced players: It is a valuable tool for controllable understable shots, such as hyzer-flips and turnovers.
