Trash Panda Distance Driver 10|5|-1|2
The Extraterrestrial II (ET II) from Trash Panda is a highly experimental, high-speed driver that leans into the "weird" side of disc design. If you've been around the sport for a while, the easiest comparison is a modern, refined version of the Aerobie Epic.
The "Variable Rim" Design
The defining feature of the ET II is its variable rim width. Unlike a standard disc where the rim is uniform, the ET II rim thickness changes as you move around the diameter.
-
The Feel: Depending on where you place your thumb, it can feel like a narrow fairway driver or a wide-rim distance driver.
-
The Flight: This asymmetrical design creates a unique "shimmy" or wobble in flight. Because the center of gravity isn't perfectly centered, it generates aerodynamic lift differently than a standard disc.
-
Versatility: While the original Aerobie Epic was famous for massive overhand (tomahawk/thumber) distance due to this design, the ET II is tuned to be more usable for standard backhand and forehand shots as well
Flight Specs & Characteristics
Trash Panda famously "redacts" the flight numbers for the ET series because the variable rim makes every throw (and every grip) slightly different. However, retail listings generally categorize it as:
| Attribute | Estimated Value |
| Speed | 10 (though the 2.4cm rim suggests closer to 12-13 speed) |
| Glide | 5 |
| Turn | -1 |
| Fade | 2 |
-
Stability: Generally described as neutral to stable. It isn't a "utility only" meatpuk, but it isn't a pure roller either.
-
Plastic: It typically uses a premium recycled blend that is stiff and grippy, comparable to a high-end "E-blend" or "S-line" feel but with a more textured, matte finish common to recycled materials.
Why Bag It?
-
Grip Customization: You can rotate the disc to find the exact rim thickness that fits your hand size or power level.
-
The "Epic" Factor: If you enjoy throwing overhand shots, the off-center weight distribution helps the disc "flip" faster and more predictably for distance.
-
Sustainability: It’s one of the fastest drivers on the market made entirely from recycled plastic.
It’s essentially a "conversation starter" disc that actually performs. It’s meant for players who enjoy the "feel" of a disc as much as the flight and aren't afraid of a little intentional inconsistency in their bag.
