AGL Fairway Driver 9|4|-1|3
The AGL Discs Locust is a stable-to-overstable 9-speed fairway driver, popular for its dependable finish and surprising distance potential. Despite being a fairway driver, many players note that it can fly nearly as far as some distance drivers.
Flight characteristics
- Flight numbers: The official flight numbers for the Locust are 9 (Speed), 4 (Glide), -1 (Turn), and 3 (Fade).
- Consistent finish: The disc is known for its predictable and hard-fading finish, making it a reliable option for shots that need to get a specific distance and then consistently hook left for right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers.
- Controllable flight: Thrown flat, the Locust has a slight turn before a reliable fade kicks in. For shots thrown on a hyzer angle, it will flip up slightly for added distance before fading out.
- Versatile utility: Advanced players can use it for big S-curve flex shots by throwing it on an anhyzer angle, allowing for maximum distance before it fights out of the turn and fades. It is also able to handle forehands with good torque resistance.
Ideal for intermediate and advanced players
While its overstable nature makes the Locust a tough disc for beginners to utilize fully, it becomes a holy grail fairway driver for players with more developed arm speed.
